Magic Marker 03:49
She's a magic maker Breaker Taker She's drawn a magic marker Around you But you'll do Nothing to upset her Never Upset her You tell me that you love her I scream out To you fool Yes, no, you can't know Where her love will go Yes, no, you won't know Where her love will She's a magic maker Breaker Taker She's drawn a magic marker Around you And her too Nothing could upset her Never Upset her She tells me that you love her I scream out You're a fool Yes, no, you can't know Where her love will go Yes, no, you won't know Where her love will Take a left just when she take a right, you see she's gone Meet the day but just in time for night, you see she's gone Try to be wrong when you know you're right, she'll soon be gone Turn to me for comfort but too late cause now I'm gone

Your face Betrays you Your voice Loses volume Your hands They reach out Your legs They walk away Stretch it on Stretch it on Stretch it on and on and on and on The truth Is fading But hope Is sleeping Your lie In pieces And still you keep it Stretch it on Stretch it on Stretch it on and on and on and on
3.
Tonight I'll paint it silver The wall You could come over and help me Tomorrow I'll paint it gold Just like the chain heart I wore I'll change any color that surrounds me And you'll see just what I can be Because there's so much that can surprise you Wait and see just what I can be Tonight I'll be your friend This day We'll sit and talk for hours on end Tomorrow A love you'll feel There's no way to run for cover
4.
Pinned Down 03:52
Pinned down He says Your time's come Your time's up Pinned down To the ground ground ground Fly high now Sky cries rain down Fall long and hard Stand tall We do for you now To mend our broken hearts Fly high now Sky cries rain down Fall long and hard Stand tall We do for you now To mend our aching hearts

10 Feet Tall 03:49
A statue You stand so still I can't see you blink Your eyes so still A crack down your middle Chipping away at your surface You stand 10 feet tall With a chip on your shoulder You still hold her

about

It's a known fact here in Beastonia, that I await with baited breath at the mere mention of new music coming out of camp Kite in the Air...Kite in the Air blew me away with their self titled debut EP back in May, so word of a second EP, due out later this month, makes me smile like no other...Tonight, I've got the title track off of the late November release, Magic Marker, and can I just take a minute to revel, and say...WOW. The trio of Emma, Mike and Jed dive into an electronic pool of softly touching elements and emerge, drenching listeners in a wave of liquid love. Keep it locked in til the 2:00 minute mark when the song beefs up a bit and the always tight production takes the song to a bigger and beefier level.Sit back and say aaaaah.

Kite In The Air is collaboration between San Fernando Valley's folksy songwriter Emma Lucia of acoustic act Jed and Lucia and recently-mentioned east/west electro duo WZRDZ out of The Bay & Brooklyn. The sounds they in collection are deliciously sweet electro-pop.
They liken their sound to Ladyhawke, Azure Ray & Mu. I think they're more or less on the mark. To their list I'd also add similarities to Ping Pong Bitches, Electrocute & Tracy + the Plastics. Needless to say they're in good company & ready to strike a fire. Kite In The Air have released their second ep earlier this month, 'Magic Marker'. It is a true gem, in that it is a beautiful piece of work...

...Mike Genius, one half of the dark electronic riff section that was the American duo WZRDZ, has joined forces by playing the laptop behind another duo, Jed & Lucia, who are more used to providing us with a sweet blend of Californian gaze folk. So they seem to have previously occupied very different genres and it seems rather impossible to imagine they’d ever have a middle in which to meet. As individual groups their music seemed born from a type of drug infused haze, only the drugs of choice in WZRDZ case were mountains of petrol-infused crack, where Jed & Lucia were drifting on a purple cloudy wave of weed. However, the music they’ve created whilst pulling together is nothing short of astonishing! It’s music you will instantly adore, made equally for the headphones as the dancefloor. It’s what The Golden Filter would have loved to have made, with it’s four beat pace and electro riffs, but with Emma Lucia’s vocals the music totally takes off. There are the kind of peaks on each track, all available for free on their website, that would make anyone jealous. Clear headed, or mind fucked beyond repair, this is music that makes a bee-line for your cerebral cortex and stays there until the morning. Enjoy the sunrise.

It hasn't really been that long since we told you about San Francisco's Kite in the Air. But, they are already back with their second EP of the year, Magic Marker. This time the production is a little bit tighter, however, they are still rockin' it like Ladytron's poppy, non-maniacal kid sister. Emma Lucia's voice perfectly compliments the groups throbbing electronica sound. This song shows maturity and progression in their sound, they deserve to be up there with the big names in the electronic scene.
...their second single "Stretch It On." It's a spacey chilled out, blissed-out, baby electro track that is perfect for... well, anything.

After listening to an extraodinarily good new single from San Francisco, California-based music project Kite In the Air for the better part of this past week, we received late word last evening that their sophomore EP, titled Magic Marker, was actually just released... within the past 24 hours! Our original feature of their debut, self-titled EP happened a few short months ago when the weather was warming in April 2009. Now that leaves are falling and local temperatures have also taken a steep dive, we find ourselves with a more settled, ambient sound that loses no energy at all in what we consider an overwhelmingly effective next step for this troupe of artists. With a lightly experimental, yet perfectly danceable, backdrop once again produced by Mark Reveley and Mike Genius of WZRDZ, the beautiful vocals of Emma Lucia (Jed & Lucia) we first discovered in August 2006 have not shed an ounce of versatility or loftiness. Be it folk, electronic pop or almost any other genre classification we can imagine, Ms. Lucia's voice could well enough be at home in any setting and is always a warm experience for our collective ear.
